As you guys know, I had surgery on Monday, July 15th, in NYU. Surgery went off early (I was shocked!) after my hip got clearance to continue with the schedule.
Surgery was extensive, and I'll spare most of the details except those that matter-I'm definitely a stage IV case of endometriosis and my endo was everywhere--even the doctors were surprised. They had to go into part of my colon because they found endo there as well. So I woke up on a clear liquid diet and stayed the night in the hospital with mom. After discharge, I had to go back to a hospital on Long Island because I was vomiting and the doctors were scared of a bowel obstruction. Luckily, it was just dehydration and a bladder infection (all much less serious than an obstruction that would have required more surgery).
So now I'm on antibiotics and motrin for the pain drinking tons of fluids and doing my breathing exercises even though they hurt. The picture I put up isn't really detailed or anything but there are 4 belly incisions (I thought they'd be much lower like my other surgery) and also one in my belly button.
Yesterday I was allowed all fluids and today I had cereal for breakfast! I'm getting there slowly but surely with minor setbacks but I expect that since the surgery was so extensive.
No word from the t-shirt guy on the prototype but now that I'm back on the computer I can get back to researching about where we will be donating proceeds!
More to come later xox
