Merry Christmas everyone! I have to say I'm incredibly excited that the holiday is here and spending time with family and being happy is something I really find a lot of comfort in lately. I can't wait til parents see the presents that I got for them as a little token of how appreciative I am of them and what they does all year long for me (including carting me to doctors and believing me rather than forcing more medical tests on me).
I have been a busy bee working with fund raising and researching for future projects and going back to the doctor. It seems that another specialist will be needed, so I'm praying that my records get here rather quickly to send them to the CEC. I had a pain management appointment today and while he was so nice and sweet and tried to be understanding the result of the appointment was virtually the same as all the others; he could try injections but they won't work because my endo is so severe. It's so hard to keep hearing that nobody can help me.
I have been very lucky this year and am so blessed to speak with many endo warriors daily that help to provide support and encouragement. We will win this battle one way or another. In the new year I want to focus on being my best advocate and speaking up for myself. In addition, while it is hard to realize that at times you are the patient educating your clinician, it does continue to raise awareness for endo. I am hoping to do a few articles and projects myself about understanding the endo woman and how we as patients can figure out ways to get better care or compassion from medical staff.
In addition, the endo t-shirts are still on sale here!!! So far we have successfully raised over $350 in a month! Keep spreading the word so that we can continue to build our communities, support groups, and research studies that may someday lead to better/more treatment options and eventually a cure.
Stay endostrong ladies! And remember to thank your supporters as
